About us

Favourable location, diverse scenic beauty, mild climate and a combination of clean sea and mountain air – this is a short description of the Crikvenica Riviera. At the end of the 19th century, health tourism began to develop here, starting a tradition that is now maintained by the area’s renowned institutions. In 2017, the Crikvenica Riviera was declared the most successful health tourism destination in Croatia and has kept the distinction to this day.

Here, you can sunbathe on sandy beaches, walk in the woods, taste traditional culinary specialities and relax in the area’s wellness and spa centres – all in one day! The Crikvenica-Vinodol area has more than 400 km of cycling, and 300 km of walking and hiking trails as well as promenades by the sea and in the hinterland. The area has favourable climatic conditions, so sports and recreational activities in the open air take place almost all year round. There are interesting events in all seasons, such as carnival parties, a cycling marathon, the Oily Fish Month, (Sr)etno Selce, the Šilo-Crikvenica Swimming Marathon, Fishermen’s Week, and the Adria Advent Marathon. Since 2013, Crikvenica has hosted the CIHT Conference (Crikvenica International Health Tourism), one of the largest health tourism conferences in the region. The Crikvenica Riviera is a true oasis of health, where everyone will always feel welcome, safe and comfortable.

Activities

The Crikvenica Tourist Board operates in the area of the Crikvenica Riviera, which includes the tourist resorts of Crikvenica, Dramalj, Jadranovo and Selce. The basic vision and mission of the organisation is constant investment in quality and efficient connection of existing services and facilities on the riviera, primarily for the satisfaction of – and increase in – the number of visitors. Another goal is to design new interesting events and activities and to form destination brands and marketing strategies, in order to achieve market recognition of the Crikvenica Riviera as a desirable destination for leisure, entertainment, relaxation, sports and recreation.

The Crikvenica Tourist Board has extensive experience in developing various projects (CIHT conference, Crikvenica – the town of marathons, Oily Fish Route, Fall in Love in/with Crikvenica, etc.), organising cultural, entertainment, traditional, culinary, sporting, recreational and other events, and numerous promotional activities. Its effort and innovation have been recognised internationally: in 2014 the Creative Tourism Network organisation awarded the Crikvenica Tourist Board with the title of the world’s most creative destination. One of the most important criteria was the inclusion of a large number of guests into the life of the local community.
