Special Hospital for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation “Martin Horvat” Rovinj-Rovigno is a modern health centre for the rehabilitation and treatment of diseases of the locomotor system with physical medicine.

We offer diagnostics and programmes for pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, therapy for acute and chronic pain conditions, as well as rehabilitation and prevention programmes for groups, athletes and recreationists, as well as all other citizens who have any problems with the musculoskeletal system or just want recommended therapy to improve their health.

As part of the hospital complex, there is a unique medical-therapeutic beach that allows people with disabilities to enter and exit the sea. In addition to swimming, enjoy soaking up the sun’s rays on deckchairs that are designed to be accessible to people with disabilities – stable deckchairs made of solid wood match the height of people with disabilities, thus facilitating transfer. On our hospital beach, the guests can completely relax and enjoy the joys of summer unhindered, while feeling safe with our occupational therapists who are always at their service.
The Rovinj Hospital is located on the peninsula of Sveta Pelagija, north of the city of Rovinj. The hospital is surrounded by a Mediterranean pine forest and Mediterranean plants, and along the entire peninsula there are paths and a promenade with a view of the city of Rovinj. The hospital’s surroundings are an ideal place for active leisure time in nature, breathing fresh air, enjoying the rays of the sun and the beneficial Mediterranean climate. Within the hospital, there is also a therapeutic park – an outdoor training ground, where guests can constantly work on their own mobility and strength in their free time.

To relax, guests can join group breathing exercises outdoors or simply drink coffee with a view of the sea and enjoy the beautiful Rovinj sunset.
Currently, a new swimming pool complex on three floors with an area of 3,637 square meters is under construction. It will replace the existing one and is intended for patients of the orthopaedic hospital, as well as for athletes and recreationists. A rehabilitation pool measuring 12.60 x 6 m is intended for the needs of the patients of the orthopaedic hospital, while a larger pool measuring 25 x 33 m is under construction for the needs of athletes and recreationists. The pools will have separate entrances. The construction of the swimming pool complex will enable the opening of a new hydrotherapy department and an additional physical therapy department. During the construction of the swimming pool complex, special attention is paid to the architecture so that the new building fits aesthetically with the existing surrounding buildings, which are under conservation protection.

The Villa Aurum accommodation facility in the 4* category offers accommodation in 26 rooms with bathrooms only 50 m from the sea, and consists of the ground floor and the first floor and can accommodate a total of 48 people. Part of the rooms is fully adapted and accessibility for people with disabilities and reduced mobility is ensured. During their stay at the Villa Aurum guests can relax using some of our massages and therapies, such as the aroma massage, sports massage, shock wave, medical massage and many other treatments.
