The Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster participated in the opening of the Rijeka part of the initiative related to the International Year of Millets (IYM) 2023, which took place on Thursday, March 30, starting at 6 PM in the city hall of the city of Rijeka.

The event was created in cooperation between the Embassy of India and the Cluster, as well as the city of Rijeka and the Croatian-Indian Friendship Society.

As part of the program, many interesting lectures were held on the topic of the benefits of millet. Two members of the Cluster actively got involved, so the lectures were held by Mrs. Vanja Đurica, nutritionist from Thalassotherapia Opatija, as well as prof. Davor Štimac, MD, PhD, head of the Clinic for Internal Medicine and head of the Department of Gastroenterology at Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka. The rich program was concluded with the presentation of millet-based gastronomy inspired by India.

This initiative represents the continuation of the business cooperation between the Cluster and the Indian Institute of Ayurveda, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH of the Republic of India, and the president of the Cluster, Assoc. prof Vladimir Mozetič, MD, PhD, was also presented with a certificate of appreciation on this occasion.
