As part of the INTERREG V-A Slovenia – Croatia cooperation programme, Cluster participated as a leading partner in the Improving access to health services through strengthening cross-border cooperation of the health institutions project, abbreviated +Health. The project started in August 2017 and ended at the end of July 2019.

The main goal of the entire +Health project is to strengthen the partnership between public bodies and stakeholders in the health sector, in order to jointly develop new cross-border procedures and uniform certification of institutions, which will in the long term reduce regional inequalities and the urban-rural divide in the availability of services and the quality of health services and increase quality of life.

Studies made:

Cross-border Destination of Health:

It represents a cross-border cooperation structure – a forum of experts from 33 institutions, who participated with their expertise in the preparation of the strategy, the development of new common approaches and management models, the determination of quality standards of the health destination, the certification of stakeholders and the education of stakeholders and target groups.

Within this activity, the Cross-border Destination of Health Strategy – Master Plan for Destination of Health Development for 15 years was developed.

IT application of the project

A multilingual IT application of the project called IHelp was developed – it shows the locations of health institutions and the services they offer in the observed area and beyond in an interactive map. It is shown in such a way that the end user can at a certain moment of need for medical assistance, depending on the location where he is and type of health care (e.g. dentist), use the application to display all surgeries near his location, contact information and working hours. Within the application there is also an interactive map with the locations of all automated external defibrillators (AED) in the area of the health destination.
