The largest tourism fair in the world, ITB Berlin, took place again this year at the location from March 7 to 9, bringing together the world’s tourism industry in one place. More than five and a half thousand exhibitors from 160 countries presented their tourism offer to almost 150 thousand potential partners.

In addition to the Crikvenica Tourist Board, Jadran Hotels&Camps, Riviera Opatija Tourist Boards and Lošinj Hotels&Villas, Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster was situated at the stand of the Kvarner Region Tourist Board. Our members who also participated in this eminent tourist fair are: Liburnia Riviera Hotels&Villas, Rijeka Tourist Board, Jadran hotels d.d. Rijeka, travel agencies Mediteran Adria d.o.o. and Travelana, as well as Olivari d.o.o.

In order to present the health tourism offer of Kvarner and all 38 members of the Cluster, to learn about new world trends in tourism and to achieve new partnerships, the Cluster participated in many lectures as part of the medical and health tourism program that was held as part of ITB’s health tourism pavilion. The rich three-day program included presentations, panel discussions and interviews attended by health tourism experts from all over the world. Some of the topics included dental tourism, thalassotherapy, facilitation in health tourism, and special attention was given to the topic of new challenges and the use of new digital tools, while the program tried to answer the question of how to attract European tourists.

Numerous meetings were held at the stand of the Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster, which were partly scheduled in advance, and partly agreed on the spot. About twenty meetings were held, during which emphasis was placed on connecting the members of the Cluster with new business partners and on the possibility of advertising in different broadcasting markets. Many contacts were also established in order to find new quality lecturers for the eleventh consecutive Crikvenica International Health Tourism Conference, which the Cluster organizes together with the Crikvenica Tourist Board.

The Crikvenica Tourist Board and Cluster also participated in the event called “ITB Medical and Health Night” organized by ITB with the support of Great Spa Towns Of Europe, European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA) and European Spas Association. As part of this evening, the “ITB MEDICAL & HEALTH TOURISM AWARD 2023” award ceremony was held.

On this occasion, we would like to once again congratulate our member, the Rijeka Tourist Board, which, in a strong competition, won the award of the film festival “The Golden City Gate” in Berlin for the promotional film of Rijeka and the Ring of Rijeka called “Remember me”. The award ceremony was held as part of the ITB Berlin program, and the award was accepted by the TB’s director, Petar Škarpa.
